Rockland Standard Gear Offers Heavy Duty NP231 Transfer Cases With Slip-Yoke Eliminator Kits
Apr 4, 2007
"Building smarter" is a good way to describe RSG's heavy duty NP231 transfer case. They utilize the existing NP231 case but fill it with beefy parts so you end up with a heavy duty 'case that requires no costly modifications to fit in your vehicle. It's a 100% stock fit. Features include 6-pinion planetary gear sets, beefy chains and sprockets, and a big 32-spline output shaft that is CV-ready.
SLOATSBURG, NY – Rockland Standard Gear (RSG), the premier distributor of new, remanufactured and specialty transfer cases, has the ultimate drivetrain solution for all Jeeps, Durangos and Dakotas equipped with lift kits and large-diameter wheels and tires. It is based on the popular NP231 transfer case, which has been modified to cope with the increased driveshaft angularity and stresses created by lift kits and larger wheels. RSG’s HD NP231 T-case is also a must for serious off-roaders and extreme-duty applications such as plowing snow.
RSG beefs up the NP231’s internal components with heavy-duty, 6-pinion planetary gearsets and severe-duty chains and sprockets. Then the standard 27-spline slip-in yoke is replaced with a much stronger 32-spline bolt-on yoke that accepts a CV-style rear driveshaft to allow more extreme angles without binding. The end product is a unit that is as strong as the larger NP241, and is smoother running thanks to the CV-joint conversion.
