Dodge RAM BFT - Sema Show Truck
Oct 30, 2007
With SEMA 2007 almost upon us we thought a few teaser shots of a Dodge show truck would whet your appetite for our show coverage this week.
Dubbed by Dodge the "BFT" or Built for Towing (ya right!) this monster is a single cab extra long box with a 10' bed. Instead of having the ultimate in passenger carrying capacity like their production Mega Cab, Dodge designers used a single cab along with a 10' bed for the ultimate show truck cargo hauler. Power is naturally provided by a Cummins 6.7L turbo diesel backed up by an auto tranny. Taking a cue from the aftermarket which has been doing this for years, 22.5" Alcoa wheels have been mounted and allowed to fit by use of a 6" Superlift lift kit. According to the chief designer of this project truck " the goal of the design team was to make the Ram BFT look proportionally just right, so that it might look like a production vehicle. We think they succeeded.
