Black Diamond Releases X2 Jeep Wrangler 7" Suspension System
Feb 29, 2008
Black Diamond has released the follow-up to its revolutionary XCL Jeep coil-over suspension system that first debuted in 1996. The X2 system features tremendous versatility, allowing it to work on 1987 to 2006 model year Jeep Wranglers (YJ or TJ). All versions of this kit provide a 7" lift system with coils in front, leaf springs (over axle) in the back, and enough clearance to fit 37" tires.
The X2 system for 1987-2006 Wranglers combines extreme off-road articulation with predictable performance at pavement speeds. Providing 7" of lift with 14" front/12.75" rear wheel travel, the X2 clears 37" tires with no other modifications. The system uses rear leafs springs over the axle -- even for the TJ kit -- to create daily-drivable stability. Weld-on spring pads are available for all factory axles as well as for popular axle swaps. Black Diamond SS monotube rear shocks are included, as are Kevlar-reinforced braided-steel brake hoses. YJ kits use front monotube coilover shocks; TJs get progressive-rate long-travel coils with a choice of monotube gas, hydraulic or the premium remote-reservoir coilover shocks. Many options are available, including the innovative Torque Fork traction device.
