Reese Solo Hitch Alignment System

Reese's Solo Hitch Alignment System is a classic example of an ingeniously simple idea. Take a couple of telescoping antennas, put tennis balls on top, and you've got a one-person hitch alignment system.

Ok, maybe those aren't car antennas and tennis balls. The Reese setup uses telescoping rods that are much beefier than car antennas, and they're attached to magnetic bases so you can easily attach them to a wide range of hitch systems. No drilling of holes or tools required.
