Banks Stainless Steel Torque Tubes for Jeep JKs
Apr 16, 2009
It's not likely that your new 3.8L equipped JK needs headers but if you want them, Banks has got 'em. Their new Torque Tubes, built from 400-series stainless, are meant to be extremely durable and Banks claims the tube assemblies welded to the flanges will never crack or separate! That's right, NEVER. Well that is a big claim but if they are willing to back it up I guess every owner of these headers will be able to sleep a bit better at night. As far as the performance aspects go, Banks claims that exhaust flow and engine efficiency is optimized "because the stock manifold flanges don't align squarely with the ports, flow is restricted. Banks corrects the problem with thick flanges that are machined dead flat, and precisely fitted to the port pattern. You can hear the difference in the plusher, healthier exhaust note." Even better: they are supposed to be a relatively easy bolt-on job. Available from your local Banks dealer today.
