Ultra Jack, From All-Trade Tools: A Kinder, Friendlier Trail Jack

Apr 23, 2009

Let's play a word association game. If I say "Hi-Lift," what is the first thing that comes to mind? Well for me it's "scary!" We've all needed a Hi-lift jack at one time or another but it's definitely a love-hate relationship. Sure, they're extremely useful but we've all seen been in situations where we've had a wobbly truck balanced 3' in the air on one, praying that we might still have a full set of teeth and functional legs after the precarious trail-side fix is done. So what alternatives are there? One of them is the old standby bottle jack. But most aftermarket bottle jacks come with a small nub on the end of them that is meant to balance your truck safely on flat ground, not in some rocky creek bed. This is why we are quite excited by the Ultra Jack from All Trade Tools. It comes with a wide base and a substantial lifting mount end. Designed with a 6000lbs capacity and the ability to lift up to 21", this, along with a couple of blocks of wood, should make for some relatively non-frightening on-the-trail jacking.
