Springer Tool's Pilot Bushing Tool is what's known as a "better mouse trap." It's a tool that does its job so well and is such an improvement over any other way of doing it, that you will want to own one as soon as you try it. Even better, the price is very affordable so your wallet doesn't get damaged in the process!

What does it do? It removes pilot bushings and it does it with virtually zero effort. The tool itself is tiny so you don't need much room to work. If you can touch the bushing with your fingers, the Springer Tool will be able to pull the bushing. After you've looked at the photos and read the captions, visit their website and buy one! This is the EASIEST way I've ever seen to remove these damned bushings.

The source of so much frustration: the pilot bushing/bearing.

Remove the bolt from the Springer Tool and insert it through the bushing. The split ends of the tool will bend inwards to pass through.

Push it in until the ends spring apart. This indicates that the tools' jaws can now pull against the bushing.

Next, thread the bolt back into the tool.

When you can no longer turn the bolt by hand, grab a couple of 9/16" wrenches and start turning.

With no effort at all, the bushing has started to come out.

This is just too easy!

The bearing is now out and the process took less than 2 minutes.
